ADCET UDL Symposium: Leveraging AI and Assistive Technology to Enhance Inclusion in Higher Education

Online presentation

In this lightning session, participants explored the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Assistive Technology (AT) in creating inclusive educational environments in higher education. By aligning with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) 3.0 guidelines, it was demonstrated how these technologies can provide multiple means of engagement, representation, and action & expression, thereby reducing barriers to learning for all students, including those with disabilities.

The session highlighted real-world examples and case studies from institutions that have successfully implemented AI and AT to enhance student engagement and success. The impact of these technologies on student experience was then discussed, supported by data and feedback from pilot programs.

Participants left with practical strategies and insights on how to integrate AI and AT into their own teaching practices.
