Resources to Support VET Students with Disability

In 2022, ADCET worked with the VET and disability sectors to develop a suite of resources supporting small and medium VET providers to be more inclusive of people with disability and mental health conditions. The work was funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, and the resources are hosted on the DEWR website. This link takes you away from the ADCET page

They include practice guides, practice illustrations, templates and supporting materials, covering pre-enrolment, enrolment, transition from school, reasonable adjustments, participation and accessibility, progress and completion, and practice improvement and reflection.

In January 2026, DEWR updated and launched the resources with links to the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

  • Introductory Guide
  • Practice Guides
  • Practice Illustrations
  • Supporting Resources for Practice Guides and Illustrations
  • Guidelines for Inclusive Enrolment Practices in VET

The resources are based on the 2020 Review of the Disability Standards for Education 2005 and the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), This link takes you away from the ADCET page  analyses of recent research and industry reports, the experiences of VET staff and practitioners, and guidance from sector specialists.
