Accessibility Officer - Queensland University of Technology
Employment information: Ongoing, full-time basis; $94,084 to $101,872 pa (HEW6); 17% super
The Accessibility Officer works within the Disability and Accessibility Services team to support equitable access, participation and inclusion for students experiencing accessibility barriers. The position provides direct student support and contributes to accessibility initiatives, assistive technology services and projects that enhance the student experience.
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree in Disability Studies, Inclusive Education, Allied Health, Education, Social Sciences, Information Technology, or another relevant field, combined with subsequent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing accessibility barriers, including the ability to identify needs, develop practical support strategies and facilitate access to services and resources.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, or strong interest in developing expertise in, assistive technologies, accessible learning tools and emerging accessibility innovations that support accessibility and inclusion.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training, workshops or information sessions, and to communicate accessibility information effectively to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed organisational, administrative and digital communication skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, coordinate resources and develop information and online content.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise initiative and judgement, and contribute to projects, service improvement activities and team objectives.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
