Vale Dr Lin Martin AO
ADCET was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Linley (Lin) Martin AO, on 28 December 2025.
Dr Martin's work focused particularly on learning outcomes assessment in Australian higher education and quality assurance frameworks for the tertiary education sector.

Dr Martin held numerous senior positions in the Australian higher education sector, including Head of University Services and Academic Registrar at the University of Melbourne, Vice President at Deakin University, and senior roles at UNSW, RMIT University, Flinders University, and the University of South Australia.
She served as senior advisor to the Bradley Review of Higher Education and was appointed part-time Commissioner for the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) in 2015, completing a five-year term.
Dr Martin was an Honorary Fellow of the Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Melbourne. Her research interests included quality assurance of teaching and learning, university performance measurement, and assessment of learning.
