For the 2018 Pathways Conference ADCET was delighted to provide registration sponsorship to two people in the Disability Sector. They were David Healy a Teacher Consultant from TAFE NSW, Ultimo Campus and Celina Campas a Disability Advisor from Australian Catholic University, Strathfield Campus.

David and Celina provided us with a few thoughts about the Conference.

David Healy

The Pathways 14 conference was a great refresher of the hard yakka all of us Disability Coordinators do every year to proactively support swds in a challenging tertiary education environment.  The various guest speakers did fine-hone our currency of emerging issues that face Tertiary & VET Disability support practitioners in the current education context.  The highlights was presentations by the students & staff with disability which reminded us to remain vigilant in an ever changing learning environment

The Welcome Drinks and the Gala Dinner was lovely also, giving us Disability Support practitioners a chance to network in a very informal way.  The showbag plus display stalls by Disability-related agencies contributed to the power of networking at a conference level.  Finally, the wonderful support provided by 4 Auslan interpreters daily demonstrated ATEND commitment to providing an inclusive environment for all at the national level

My hat goes off to all who have contributed to the coordination and delivery of the Conference.  I must also say ‘thanks again’ for providing a ‘lucky door’ prize as to allow me to attend all three days.  It was a great experience.  I look forward to visiting Darwin (if approved!) in 2020

Celina Campas

It was lovely to have the opportunity to attend Pathways 14.  Amongst some of the great presentations, I was delighted to see the C-UDL (Co-Designed Universal Design for Learning) presentation on a truly co-designed teaching and learning experience.

A big Thank You to ADCET for giving me this chance to learn and connect with colleagues in the sector!
