ADCET UDL Symposium 2026 Gallery Presentations - Submissions Now Open

ADCET have reopened submissions specifically for gallery presentations (posters) for the ADCET UDL Symposium 2026. If you missed the original deadline, or if you're already presenting and would like to share your work in an additional format, we'd love to hear from you.

Submissions are sought from across the Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) sectors from academics, teachers, educators and practitioners that highlight Universal Design for Learning (UDL) applications.

Why submit a gallery presentation?

Gallery presentations are a core part of the symposium experience - they offer a flexible, visual way to share your UDL journey and connect with participants at their own pace. As a UDL event, we value multiple means of engagement, and the gallery session creates space for rich, informal conversation that complements our formal presentations and workshops.

Who can submit?

  • Anyone who missed the original abstract deadline - gallery presentation submissions are now open.
  • Existing presenters and workshop facilitators who would like to engage participants in an additional format.

What is a gallery presentation?

A gallery presentation is a visual summary of your UDL journey or practice. It can take several forms:

  • A standard poster
  • Physical artefacts
  • An interactive display or tablet
  • A looping video presentation (maximum 3 minutes, closed captions required)

We encourage presenters to attend in person during the gallery session to interact with participants. However, if you are presenting online, you may submit a short video to be screened during the session and made available to online attendees.

Submission requirements

Your submission should include:

  • Contact information and additional presenter details (if applicable)
  • Presentation title and brief description
  • The symposium theme(s) your presentation addresses
  • An abstract of 300 words or fewer, or an audio/video recording (maximum 2 minutes) uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or a shared folder - a transcript is required for all recordings
  • Your preferred attendance format (in-person or online)
  • Level of UDL expertise required by participants
  • Any specific technical support or accessibility adjustments required

Broad themes

  1. Innovative UDL practices in teaching and learning
  2. Gen AI and Assistive Technology (AT) as enablers of inclusion
  3. Students as co-designers
  4. Institutional-wide approaches to UDL
  5. Accessibility
  6. Executive functioning
  7. Authentic representation and addressing bias
  8. Engagement, joy, and play
  9. UDL beyond the classroom

New submissions deadline: Wednesday 29 April 2026
