Accessibility Advisor - University of Southern Queensland

Employment information: Full-time continuing; $91,553 to $99,155 pa; 17% Super

The University of Southern Queensland are seeking a passionate and skilled Accessibility Advisor to join their Wellbeing team, a multidisciplinary group dedicated to supporting student success across the entire student lifecycle. In this role, you will help remove barriers to participation and ensure students with disabilities and diverse needs have equitable access to learning, teaching, and university life.

Duties

  • Coordinate and advocate for reasonable adjustments that enable students with disabilities to fully participate in university life.
  • Provide expert advice to students and staff on accessibility, equity, and legislative requirements, including the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, Disability Standards for Education 2005, and Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
  • Conduct student consultations and collaboratively develop tailored support plans.
  • Promote inclusive and universal design principles in learning and teaching.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to support positive student outcomes.

Skills and qualifications

To thrive in this role, you will bring strong communication skills, exceptional knowledge surrounding equity, diversity and accessibility issues and the ability to interpret complex policies.

A degree in human services, education, health, or a related field, with relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience) and possession of a Blue Card is also required for this role.
