Manager, Learner Equity - Swinburne

Employment information: Full-time, ongoing position; HEW Level 9 + 17% super; Hawthorn campus

Swinburne University of Technology is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, Learner Equity to champion their commitment to access, inclusion and student success across Higher Education and Vocational Education. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead learner-centred equity strategies, projects and services that remove systemic barriers and empower students from equity cohorts to thrive at Swinburne.

As a trusted adviser and project leader, you will influence policy, oversee critical programs and government-funded initiatives, and collaborate across the institution to deliver impactful projects and services for students. Your expertise will help ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their potential in an inclusive, supportive and future-focused learning environment.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Extensive experience in leadership and management of an operational workgroup, ideally of services that affect higher education and vocation education learners.
  • Demonstrable project leadership and evaluation skills.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Victorian and National education context, including funding and legislation governing student equity.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and with accountability to deliver high-quality programs and/or services.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering improved outcomes and results for student equity cohort groups in a higher education and/or vocation education setting and achieve objectives operating within complex organisational structures.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience; or extensive management experience and expertise in a relevant area; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
