From Campus to Career Survey / Interview - Monash University
At University, the right supports can make a huge difference - or sometimes fall short. This study is looking at how accommodations impact students with disability, and how these experiences influence confidence, opportunities, and success after graduation.
It seeks to better understand the facilitators and barriers that affect the participation of university students in industry placements and their transition to graduate employment. This includes work-integrated learning (WIL), internships, clinical placements and industry placements. They are specifically interested in hearing from students and graduates who identify as neurodiverse, but they are also interested to hear from any student who has a disability.
This research project intends to:
- Identify barriers to student participation in work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities
- Identify the support needs of students with a disability and neurodiverse students to access and engage in work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities to create a narrative of success
- Develop a set of resources for both students and host organisations to improve skill development outcomes
- Investigate how these supports translate into post-placement work contexts
- Develop guidelines for universities take to bring closer the expectations of neurodiverse and disabled students and their future employers
How to participate
Participants who complete one of the below activities will go into a draw to win a $50 gift card
