    Vocational Student of the Year - Victoria

    The 2018 Victorian Vocational Student of the year is Elise Stewart.  Elise demonstrates that having a disability shouldn’t prevent anyone from achieving their goals. Initially Elise was told she couldn’t become a nurse because she is profoundly deaf and could put patients at risk.

    Webinar: Using technology in the classroom for Deaf students

    This webinar was hosted by ADCET and the Australian Tertiary Education Network on Disability (ATEND) in May, 2016.

    Gary Kerridge was the presenter and he discussed the using assistive technology for delivery of Auslan and captioning for Deaf students. The presentation included strategies for delivering remote interpreting and captioning in various education situations through assistive technology, mobile devices and the Internet. He also presented information on a number of listening devices and how they can benefit classroom situations.
