Search tips

If you enter two or more words in the search field, the search results will include matches for any of those words.

To optimise the search results, you can use the following operators in the search field:

  • Surround a phrase with double quotes (") to search for the whole phrase.
  • Prefix a word with + if all search results must include the word.
  • Prefix a word with - if the search results must not include the word.

Examples:

  • one two
    Search for either one or two.
  • "one two"
    Search for the whole phrase "one two" rather than the individual words one or two.
  • +one two
    All search results must include one, and will rank higher if they also contain two.
  • +one -two
    All search results must include one, but none will include two.

    Developed as part of the Australian Government initiative, National Disability Coordination Officer Program, Disability Awareness Training is the only eLearning training freely available in Australia. Its content is ideal for someone who has minimal or no knowledge of disability, and can be used as a refresher course to be applied across the workplace and the community.

    Disability Awareness: In My Shoes

    In My Shoes is a simple induction program that supports the education provider to ensure that all staff of the organisation are aware of their responsibilities and legal obligations according to the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and the Disability Standards in Education (2005). This training program offers three different streams, targetting - Teachers, Administration staff and Disability Support Staff.

    EO Online

    EO Online is an online training program for staff in equal opportunity, discrimination and harassment issues. The resource has been developed for staff in the higher education sector by a consortium of Australian universities. It is a self-paced learning program that is easy to access and use. Equity principles, terminology and application are explained through real life case studies and interactive learning techniques. 

    Use of EO Online is restricted to participating universities as a resource for staff training and referral within their university.

Aimed at TAFE staff, it provides a summary of the key findings of the report, including lessons from participants about strategies to help students with mental illness, and useful resources.     Mental Health First Aid

    In order to help people provide initial support for someone with a mental health problem, the Centre for Mental Health Research at the Australian National University has developed a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training course. The MHFA course is a 12-hour course developed in 2000 by Betty Kitchener and Professor Tony Jorm with the aim to improve the mental health literacy of members of the Australian community.
