Invisible disabilities and barriers to education can significantly impact a person’s ability to learn, yet they often go unnoticed or misunderstood.
This session, hosted by Skills Education and presented by Natalie Oostergo, will look at strategies to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment and help you understand more about lived experience of invisible disability.
This presentation aims to enhance learning outcomes, promote diversity, equality and inclusion, and empower students to overcome challenges and thrive.
Outcomes: By the end of the webinar, participants will:
- Understand the legal and policy framework that guides support for students with a disability, including the Standards for RTOs
- Understand the challenges faced by individuals with invisible disabilities in educational settings
- Be equipped with practical tools to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Have access to a free Learning Support Plan Template updated to the revised Standards
This PD session is for VET practitioners who are interested in developing a deeper understanding of invisible disabilities and learning how to create inclusive, supportive environments that support all students to succeed.
