Triage and Accessibility Adjustments Coordinator - University of Wollongong
Employment information: Permanent/continuing, part-time 0.8 FTE (28 hours per week); Level 5: $84,002 - $94,998 + 17% superannuation (pro rata)
This position serves two primary purposes: to provide frontline and administrative support for the Student Support and Wellbeing Services and support the procurement and provision of Accessibility Adjustments to students in alignment with their Access Plan.
The role is responsible for the implementation and administration of personalised assistance as determined by Student Accessibility Advisors, including Assistive Technology and Peer Support Programs that enable students living with disability to participate fully in their studies. The provision of advice and assistance to students and staff regarding the effective use of assistive technologies is a key aspect of this role.
This position will also support the day-to-day operations of Student Support and Wellbeing Services by providing high quality and efficient administration of the services online and in-person.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualification and / or work experience
- Broad knowledge and experience in the use of assistive technologies to support accessible and inclusive education for students with a disability and a commitment to maintaining contemporary knowledge
- Current knowledge of Australian Government legislation related to engagement by people with disability, particularly Disability Discrimination Act and Disability Standards for Education
- Demonstrated well developed skills across a range of office coordination tasks, including in the use of common office technologies and software and the ability to troubleshoot straightforward issues
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and complete multiple tasks whilst applying initiative and sound judgment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated cultural sensitivity
- Evidence of strong client/ student focus and customer experience skills in dynamic, fast paced work environments requiring high levels of confidentiality to be maintained
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a team environment
