Accessibility Consultant, Student Wellbeing - Central Queensland University

Employment information: Full-time, fixed term (until 31 Dec 2026); $121,744 to $131,995 pa (including salary of $102,876 to $111,538 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading); Location: Mackay or Rockhampton

As a key member of the Accessibility and Equity team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive learning experiences for students. Your primary objective will be to assess, develop and implement reasonable educational adjustments, delivering high-quality, student-centred support to individuals with disabilities, medical and mental health conditions. You will provide expert advice to academic and professional staff, contribute to case coordination, and support inclusive practice across both online and face-to-face learning environments.

CQUniversity are looking for a proactive, empathetic and detail-oriented professional with strong experience in disability or equity services and confidence working with large systems. You will manage a diverse caseload, interpret legislation and policy, and lead initiatives that enhance accessibility and student outcomes.

Position Requirements

  • Relevant degree with subsequent experience in disability, accessibility or related equity services, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Strong knowledge of disability legislation, policy frameworks and inclusive education practices within a higher education or similar environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and influence positive outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload, prioritise competing demands and work independently with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using corporate systems and technology, including CRM platforms and assistive tools to support service delivery.
