Job Description
As a Learning Adviser, you will interact virtually and face-to-face with academic and support services staff and students to deliver high quality academic skills support. You’ll collaborate closely with a committed team of Librarians, Learning Advisers, and Digital Capability Advisers to enhance students’ academic success.
Based within the Academic Engagement Services team, the three roles available are across the following areas:
- Arts, Education and Law (AEL) and Business
- Health and Sciences
- An equity-funded team supporting students from low SES and/or First Peoples backgrounds
The Academic Engagement Services team supports students with academic skills development through workshops, consultations, eLearning resources and other learning and teaching services.
In this key role, you will be involved with project work developing a study support service for neurodivergent students and supporting professional development in disability support within the Library.
About you
- A background in education supporting students in the higher education sector (experience in academic libraries is desirable).
- A strong commitment to supporting inclusive practice.
- Experience in developing eLearning resources, delivering workshops, student consultations and other teaching and learning services as required.
- Excellent communicator with demonstrated teaching and digital skills, client support capability and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible, well-organised, and effective working independently and as part of a team in a rapidly changing environment.
- Knowledge of inclusive pedagogical practices that ensure accessibility, cultural relevance and meaningful engagement for students from diverse backgrounds.
- Committed to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
A degree or post-graduate qualification in education or related discipline, or significant progress towards a degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
