Disability Adviser - Queensland University of Technology
Employment information: Ongoing, full-time basis; $122,852 to $134,385 pa (HEW7) (inclusive of $103,811 to $113,557 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
The Disability Adviser will work in collaboration with the Disability and Accessibility Services team to facilitate support and academic adjustments for students with a disability, injury, health or mental condition; and contributes to related aspects of equitable access and participation for students.
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in Disability Studies, Inclusive Education, or Allied Health with subsequent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the impact of disability upon teaching and learning processes at a tertiary level.
- Proven ability to identify learning barriers and impacts, in response to a broad range of presentations/conditions and determine appropriate reasonable adjustments.
- Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, combined with strong organisational abilities to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team, and to collaborate across organisational boundaries in a large organisation.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of federal and state government legislation and initiatives relating to disability, particularly as they apply to students in higher education.
