Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - WSU

Employment information: Full-time, ongoing position at HEW Level 9. Hawkesbury campus with flexible working arrangements. Salary: $134,981 to $144,149 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Western Sydney University is seeking a strategic and collaborative Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to drive institution-wide DEI outcomes and embed inclusive leadership across the University.

In this role, you will lead the design, implementation and governance of DEI strategies, action plans and accountability frameworks that align with Western 2030 and the People First Pillar. Working closely with senior leaders, People and Culture, and the Organisational Development portfolio, you will champion organisational culture change and ensure compliance with legislative standards and sector expectations.

You will represent Western in national forums and accreditation bodies, strengthening external partnerships and contributing to sector-wide conversations on inclusion. Using a data-informed approach, you will leverage workforce analytics and insights to track progress, inform decision‑making and drive measurable outcomes across DEI initiatives.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver and govern University-wide DEI strategies, policies and action plans.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders to embed inclusive leadership and cultural change.
  • Strengthen governance frameworks including committees, reporting and accountability mechanisms.
  • Build internal and external partnerships that elevate Western’s DEI profile.
  • Use workforce analytics to measure outcomes and inform continuous improvement

About You

  • Postgraduate qualifications in HR, OD or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience leading DEI strategies in complex organisations.
  • Strong understanding of legislation, compliance and best practice in equity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication and governance capability.
