Accessibility Officer - TAFE QLD
Employment information: Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 14 August 2026
As the Accessibility Officer at TAFE Queensland, you will contribute to effective and efficient organisational processes, activities and mechanisms of Vocational Education and Training (VET) services through the facilitation and coordination of support services to students, including those with a learning difficulty and/or disability. You will undertake assigned tasks and complete activities in an organised and efficient manner, achieving high levels of customer service with internal and/or external customers, stakeholders and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Showing Initiative, Focussing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.
- Provide advice and support to current or prospective students including those with a learning difficulty and/or disability in relation to study, information, enquiries and referrals.
- Provide resources, support and advice to staff on the availability of support services to meet the study needs of students including those with a disability.
- Actively engage in internal and external networks to represent and enable the promotion, development and implementation of relevant strategies, including funding opportunities.
- Undertake personal and professional development activities to maintain currency and an understanding of relevant challenges, issues and initiatives.
- Knowledge of legislative impacts in relation to compliance and to enable the preparation of reports or submissions to key stakeholders.
- Provide assistance to students with special needs (e.g. students with disabilities, migrant students, overseas students, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students).
- Participate as required in Open Days, Expositions and other external activities which promote TAFE Queensland.
- Act as a conduit and liaison with other staff, agencies and service providers to enable integration of services to students including those with a learning difficulty and/or disability.
- Utilising various communication channels, ensure the support and resources provided have portability and functionality within the geographical and diverse organisational environment.
- Ensure the adherence and acknowledgement of privacy and confidentiality of student information in accordance with organisational and legislative requirements.
