Senior Inclusive Learning Designer - Swinburne
Employment information:
Swinburne University is seeking a Senior Inclusive Learning Designer who will provide expert guidance and support to educators and professional staff across both Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET). In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of inclusive learning experiences that incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and accessible design practices. Your work will play a key role in ensuring that learning environments are innovative, engaging, and accessible to all students.
As part of this position, you will offer both strategic and practical support to foster inclusive design approaches. A major focus will be on promoting UDL through the development and evaluation of learning resources, teaching strategies, and the integration of assistive technologies. Your expertise will help enhance educational quality and student success by aligning learning design with the institution’s broader equity and access goals.
You will also be responsible for developing, customising, and delivering professional learning opportunities that strengthen educators' capabilities in inclusive and accessible teaching practices. These initiatives will be delivered through the Educator Capability Program (ECP). Recognised as a subject matter expert, you will provide consultation on inclusive pedagogy, learning design, and assessment strategies across multiple delivery modes, including face-to-face, online, and blended environments.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in leading, designing and developing inclusive and accessible learning experiences across a variety of delivery modes, including in-person, online, and blended learning environments
- Demonstrated commitment to and experience in designing and delivering professional learning to build educator capability in inclusive teaching, learning design, and accessible assessment practices
- Demonstrated understanding of the diverse needs of student cohorts, including neurodiverse learners and those experiencing barriers to learning, and the ability to embed inclusive approaches in learning design
- Demonstrated experience in working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and assistive learning technologies to support inclusive and flexible learning experiences
