Exploring the perspectives of Australian neurodivergent university students

More neurodivergent students are entering Australian universities, prompting research into their varied experiences in higher education. This study investigated 33 neurodivergent undergraduates in Education and Health Sciences through interviews, identifying three key themes: lived perspectives, connections to learning, and achieving academic success. Results showed mixed experiences - whilst some students thrived and achieved academic success, others found university challenging. The findings highlight factors that contribute to student success and provide recommendations to enhance the university experience for neurodivergent students.
