As an Equitable Learning Advisor at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring equitable participation for students requiring educational adjustments. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with a diverse range of students, developing tailored Academic Adjustment Plans and collaborating with various university departments. Your expertise will contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment and championing the University's Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Academic Adjustment Plans: Review applications and create tailored plans to ensure equitable student participation.
- Provide Expert Support and Referrals: Offer guidance to students and facilitate appropriate referrals to internal and external support services.
- Champion Inclusive Practices: Contribute to the University's Disability Inclusion Action Plan and maintain knowledge of best practices in equity and disability support.
- Collaborate Across the University: Work with academic and professional staff to manage student adjustments and promote information exchange.

You are a compassionate professional with a relevant tertiary qualification, possessing strong organisational skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in a high-volume team environment while maintaining sensitivity to diverse student needs.
You may also:
- Have completed a tertiary qualification in health sciences, social welfare, disability, or equivalent experience.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrate experience in providing expert services to students with disabilities or in a similar support context.
- Have knowledge of mental health conditions and neurodiversity support.
- Show proficiency in using complex databases and maintaining accurate records.
- Exhibit a commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability to change.
