ACSES: New funding schemes for student equity practitioners
The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) has launched two new funding schemes through its Trials and Evaluation Program: the Practitioners Resource Grants Program and the Equity Frontiers Program: Quasi-Experimental Design Projects. Online information sessions will be held this month to introduce these programs and address questions about funding and application processes.
Practitioner Resource Grants Program
The Practitioner Resource Grants Program enables equity practitioners to combine their practical experience with ACSES research to develop impactful university resources. These collaborative efforts will produce materials such as manuals, training resources, and digital learning tools covering all stages of higher education.
Further information and registration details for the Practitioner Resource Grants Program: Wednesday, 18 June, 9 -10 am AWST/11 am -12 pm AEST
Equity Frontiers Program: Quasi-Experimental Design Projects
ACSES aims to facilitate randomised controlled trials (RCTs) for evaluating programs that improve access and success for under-represented students in higher education. When RCTs are not feasible, quasi-experimental designs (QEDs) provide robust evaluation methods that compare real-world outcomes with likely results without intervention.
The Equity Frontiers Program expands evaluation approaches for equity initiatives by exploring new data, applying diverse methods, and building a broader evidence base to understand effective equity promotion in Australian higher education.
