Sharing Your Certification

As a recipient of a digital badge or award from ADCET you may want to highlight this to others.  

Adding your eBadge to your email signature in Outlook

Instructions (including keyboard shortcuts) for adding the digital badge to your email signature in Outlook

  1. Open the Outlook desktop application
  2. Select ‘File’ in the top left corner. If using keyboard shortcuts, use Alt F
  3. Select ‘Options’ in the bottom left corner. If using keyboard shortcuts, use T
  4. Select ‘Mail’ in the left-hand nav. If using keyboard shortcuts, use the down arrow to navigate to mail.
  5. Select the ‘signatures’ button. If using keyboard shortcuts, navigate to signatures with the tab key. Select the signature that you want to modify.
  6. Select the ‘insert image file’ button, it is the second button from the right under the ‘edit signature’ header. If using keyboard shortcuts, navigate to the button using the tab key. A new menu will open.
  7. Select the badge file and select ‘insert’, the badge image will be placed within the text box window
  8. Select the image, right click and select ‘picture’. If using keyboard shortcut, use shift+F10 to open the menu and navigate to the picture button            
  9. Select the Alt Text tab and insert the appropriate text. For example as a winner of a 2022 Accessibility in Action award you could enter the following text: A digital badge that contains the ADCET logo and text that reads: Accessibility in Action Award Winner 2022'
  10. Select OK to save the alternative text
  11. With the image still selected, select the link icon (or use CTRL+K) and enter your provided credential ID into the address field.
  12. Select OK again to save your new email signature. 

Your signature should now have your digital badge or award listed, and if you select the image it will link out to the ADCET certification/verification page that confirms you are the recipient.

Adding your eBadge to your LinkedIn profile

Two ways to add a digital badge or award to you LinkedIn profile. If your certification is part of your professional development, for example completing an eLearning course on Supporting Student with Disability in Secondary Education, then you can add this to the Licences and Certifications area of your LinkedIn Profile. If you have received an award or honour from ADCET then this can be added to your Honours and Awards section.

Adding to your Licences and Certifications

  1. Go to your profile page on your LinkedIn feed.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Add profile section’ button. This will open a new menu
  3. Navigate to the ‘Additional’ button this will open a new menu
  4. Navigate to ‘Add Licence or Certification. This will open a new menu                                
  5. Insert the name of your certification: i.e. Supporting Students with Disability in Secondary Education
  6. Navigate to the ‘Issuing organisation’ field and enter: ADCET - Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training
  7. Navigate to the ‘Issue Date’ fields and insert the Month and Year the certification was issued: i.e.. May and year 2022
  8. Navigate to the Credential URL field and enter your Credential URL
  9. Select save.

Your digital certification will now appear in your LinkedIn profile.

Adding to your Honours and Awards

  1. Go to your profile page on your LinkedIn feed.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Add profile section’ button. This will open a new menu
  3. Navigate to the ‘Additional’ button this will open a new menu
  4. Navigate to ‘Add honors & awards’. This will open a new menu                                
  5. Insert the title of your award: i.e. Accessibility in Action Award Winner 2022
  6. Navigate to the ‘Issuer’ field and insert: Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET)
  7. Navigate to the ‘Issue Date’ field and insert the date the award was issued: ie. May and year 2022
  8. Navigate to ‘Description’ and insert details about the project for which you received the award. For example:
    Team win for Sharing and Advocating for accessibility at Deakin University. The Students With Assistive Technology (SWAT) group provides peer to peer advice and support on assistive technologies, provides a platform for members to skill-share and learn about current and emerging assistive technologies, identify opportunities for members to participate in Deakin projects and programs and promotes accessibility and inclusive practices and collectively advocate for equitable access through identifying and informing Deakin of barriers and issues that prevent students with disability from fully participating in education.
  9. Select save.

Your digital badge will now appear in your LinkedIn profile.
