Disability Liaison Officer - Wodonga Institute of TAFE

Employment Information: ​​Part time (0.6), ongoing​; $86,407 - $94,827 Per Year (Pro Rata) Plus Super

The Disability Liaison Officer plays a vital role in shaping equitable education. In this dynamic position, you’ll be the go-to expert for supporting students with diagnosed disabilities and medical conditions. You’ll work closely with teachers, students, and key stakeholders to design Equitable Learning Plans that break down barriers and open doors to success. Your advice and advocacy will ensure compliance with legislation while promoting independence and academic achievement.

Selected Duties

  • Coordinate the Disability Support Programs in class and across our campuses.  
  • Assess student needs and negotiate reasonable adjustments. 
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to embed inclusive practices.  
  • Deliver professional development workshops and share best-practice strategies.  
  • Develop relevant support plans when required.  
  • Champion disability awareness across the education sector. 

Skills & Experience 

  • A relevant degree in disability or similar discipline OR Certificate IV/Diploma in Disability or Community Services with significant experience.  
  • Strong case management skills and experience supporting students with disabilities.  
  • Mandatory Child Safety Officer certification.  
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence (or working towards it).
