Student Support & Accessibility Coordinator (Bega and Eurobodalla) - University of Wollongong
Employment Information: 2 x 0.6 FTE Permanent/Continuing, part-time appointments (21 hours per week); Level 6/7: $94,998 - $117,633 + 17% Superannuation (pro rata)
The Student Support and Accessibility Coordinator provides specialised information, welfare and referral services that promote equitable student learning, wellbeing and participation. Working collaboratively with students, academic and professional staff, and external providers, you will deliver high-quality support to enable students to successfully engage in their studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver intake, triage, assessment and welfare support for students with immediate or complex needs, including crisis response and critical incident support.
- Support academic success and progression by helping students navigate relevant legislation, policy requirements and university processes.
- Develop compliant and person-centred Access Plans for students with disabilities or medical conditions and advise on reasonable adjustments in line with legislation and UOW policy.
- Coordinate referrals and connections to internal and external support services, including counselling, financial assistance, housing and community providers.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with privacy, audit and reporting obligations.
- Build strong relationships with staff and external agencies to advocate for students and reduce barriers to participation.
- Contribute to service improvement, team-based reviews and ongoing professional learning, maintaining current knowledge of accessibility legislation and inclusive practices.
About You
You will have experience in student support, disability services, welfare or case management, and the ability to respond with sound judgement to complex and sensitive situations. Your understanding of relevant legislation and commitment to inclusive, student-centred practice will enable you to make a meaningful impact on student success.
