Manager, Student Wellbeing and Inclusion - The Gordon

Employment status: 

The Gordon is seeking a Manager, Student Wellbeing and Inclusion to lead their support services with strategic thinking and empathy.

You will manage specialist teams delivering counselling, disability inclusion, literacy programs and transition support. Your role is to ensure these services are equitable and effective in helping students succeed.

As part of the Student Success Directorate, you'll provide leadership, promote inclusive practices and drive improvements across wellbeing and inclusion initiatives. You'll foster a collaborative team culture focused on supporting student outcomes.

You will:

  • Lead with vision and heart — inspire and support high-performing teams dedicated to student-centred outcomes.
  • Strategic leadership — design and deliver wellbeing and inclusion services aligned with legislation, government priorities and The Gordon’s strategic plan.
  • Advocate for inclusion — represent The Gordon in key institutional and sector forums, influencing policy and championing student needs.
  • Drive innovation — implement evidence-based programs and systems enhancing student experience and operational excellence.
  • Manage complexity with care — provide leadership in resolving sensitive student cases ethically and collaboratively.

You are a leader who combines strategic vision with genuine care for people — someone who can inspire teams, influence change and lead inclusion at every level. You’ll bring a balance of operational expertise and emotional intelligence, ensuring every decision reflects The Gordon's commitment to student success.

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experienced leader in disability, wellbeing and inclusion, with a proven ability to guide and support high-performing specialist teams.
  • Strategic and solutions-focused, aligning services with organisational priorities and sector best practice.
  • Skilled communicator who builds trust, engages stakeholders and embraces collaboration.
  • Empathetic and resilient, leading through complexity while supporting staff and students with care and confidence.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and compliance, balancing regulatory requirements with innovative approaches.
  • Committed to equity, diversity and lifelong learning, demonstrated through advocacy and action.
