Inclusion Support Advisor - Southern Cross University

Employment Information: Full-time, continuing (permanent); HEW Level 6 base salary $95,961 - $105,250 per annum, plus 17% superannuation

Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480.

Your opportunity

The Study Well team provides inclusive learning and wellbeing support that empowers students to reach their potential. As an Inclusion Support Advisor, you’ll make a genuine difference by helping students with disability, long-term illness, or mental health conditions to access equitable learning opportunities and succeed in their studies. You’ll work collaboratively with students and staff across the University to assess learning needs, recommend reasonable adjustments, and champion inclusive practices.

You will make an impact by:

  • Assessing student needs, developing tailored learning access plans and reasonable adjustments
  • Providing expert advice on disability inclusion, assistive technology and inclusive education practices
  • Partnering with academic and professional staff to facilitate equitable access and success

What you will bring

You’re a passionate and solutions-focused professional who thrives on helping others achieve their potential. You understand the value of inclusion and have a strong grasp of disability support principles, with the ability to translate them into practical action.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher and experience in allied health, special education, social welfare, mental health, occupational therapy, or a related field
  • Proven experience in disability services and familiarity with the challenges and barriers faced by students with disability in accessing and succeeding in higher education.
  • Strong understanding of legislation, policies, and guidelines related to disability services and inclusion in education.
  • Strong problem-solving and judgement skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage students, staff and stakeholders effectively
