Wed 8 Oct 2025 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm AEDT

Online

Event details

In this ADCET webinar, Emma Conway, Project Officer at Edith Cowan University, will introduce the Accessibility in Service (AIS) Framework, a strategic and sustainable model designed to embed inclusive practice across student support services.

Developed through a kaleidoscopic lens informed by student insights, research, and lived experience, the AIS Framework shifts service delivery beyond compliance, toward meaningful and sustainable inclusion.

At its core, the framework’s foundation is built on four pillars:

  • Accessible service design supported by clear processes
  • Staff training and development
  • Fostering inclusion through Accessibility Champions
  • Centralised resources to support service delivery

These pillars aim to deliver:

  • Improved service outcomes
  • Increased staff capability
  • Person centric approach
  • Sustainable practice with continuous improvement

The AIS Framework recognises that accessibility must be embedded into systems, training, and everyday interactions.  It offers a practical, structured yet flexible approach to improving service delivery, consistency, and fosters a culture of inclusion and accountability.

In this session, Emma will share insights into:

  • Key findings from the initial Accessibility in Service review project
  • Practical strategies for embedding accessibility into service environments
  • The role and impact of Accessibility Champions for staff and students
  • Delivering training through a service delivery lens
  • Supporting staff and students with relevant and practical resources

Audience: Professionals working in equity, disability and service design and delivery, seeking practical ways to operationalise accessibility, empower staff, and create equitable experiences for all students
