Instructional Design: Inclusive Practices - The Gordon

The Gordon have an exciting opportunity to be their new Instructional Designer where you will lead the design, development, and enhancement of technology-enabled learning strategies and resources with a focus to better understand disability inclusion. Your work will uplift educators to understand disability inclusion to deliver high-quality, interactive, and accessible learning experiences to reflect current industry and learner needs.
Key responsibilities
- Project manage the development, promotion, and implementation of innovative and future-focused delivery technologies which align with the objectives of the Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion’s approved project/s and other programs across The Gordon.
- Lead the design and delivery of innovative, flexible learning programs tailored to the needs of the project and its stakeholders using co-creation processes with subject matter experts and people with lived experience.
- Using universal design principles, ensure that all content and resources are exemplars of best practice in relation to accessibility and inclusive design practices.
- Initiate and maintain strong working relationships across the Centre of Excellence, The Gordon and external partners to support program success.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement and operational enhancements.
About You
You are a creative and solutions-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You bring a deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and digital learning platforms. You’ll also have:
- Demonstrated experience designing innovative, creative and practical, learner-centric content that drives real behaviour change
- Proven experience in vocational or corporate instructional design, with a focus on blended or online delivery.
- Strong knowledge of Moodle (or similar LMS), H5P, and digital content creation tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
- An eye for design and detail, with a commitment to learner-centred outcomes.
Qualifications
- Accredited educational qualifications at Australian Qualifications Framework Level 5 or above; and/or successful completion of:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, inclusive of TAEASS502 (Design and develop assessment tools) and TAELLN411 (Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills)
- Accredited Online Learning or Digital Media qualifications or Adult Learning at or above Australian Qualifications Framework Level 5 or degree and experience; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training.
