Inclusive Education Program to support students with intellectual disabilities
The (Centre for Disability Studies (CDS)) Inclusive Education Program was developed to support students with intellectual disabilities to audit lectures at the University of Sydney and enjoy the experience of University life. By auditing it is meant that students are not enrolled as degree students, but attend University to study for interest. Students commit to attending University for two years. Each semester students have the opportunity to select up to two units of study. The program aims to increase the confidence of people with intellectual disabilities, expand their social networks, develop job related skills and promote social inclusion on the University campus.
