Equity, Diversity and Disability Officer - Edith Cowan University

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Counselling and Equity, this position provides operational expertise in the development, implementation, management and evaluation of processes related to student support, specialising in equity, diversity and disability issues. The position provides advice and support to students and staff in the resolution of support requests relating to these issues. The position has responsibility for monitoring compliance of equal opportunity legislation in the provision of services to students.

Key Criteria

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with relevant legislation, policies, processes and guidelines related to equity, diversity and disability and Equal Opportunity
  • Building rapport and forming positive working relationships with all internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders/communities
  • Ability to influence the decisions, actions or perceptions of others and to be straight forward and honest when doing so. Be able to create networks which foster a complementary mix of knowledge, skills and abilities, in order to achieve goals and to add mutual benefit and value to the organisation.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.
