Manager, Disability and Neurodiversity Inclusion - La Trobe University

Employment status: Ongoing, full-time; 17% superannuation

The Manager, Disability and Neurodiversity at La Trobe University leads efforts to promote inclusion across disability, neurodiversity, and cultural diversity. This role oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects related to the Universal Design and Inclusion Action Plans, including leading the Neurodiversity Project. The Manager provides strategic guidance to senior leadership and various University divisions, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and external frameworks while managing complex organizational structures.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • A post-graduate degree in public health, social sciences, international development or other relevant degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • An advanced theoretical understanding of interpersonal, cultural, structural, and institutional inequity in the context of neurodiversity and/or disability.
  • Extensive and contemporary knowledge of community development, health promotion and public health frameworks and theory including understanding of intersectionality, and experience working on intersectionally informed projects spanning various areas of diversity and inclusion. 
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in intersectional strategy, project and program design, implementation and evaluation using project cycle and theory of change methodology.
  • Up to date knowledge and experience applying social determinants of health / social models of disability.
