Employment status: Full time, fixed term appointment until October 2026. Professional Level 6 Salary - $86,629 to $92,329 pa. Plus 17% superannuation and 6 weeks annual leave

As an Access & Inclusion Advisor at Charles Darwin University (CDU) you will provide support services to ensure that prospective and current students with a disability, health condition, caregiving responsibilities, and/or have something extenuating impacting their study, are afforded appropriate opportunities to enter and participate fully in their CDU experience. You will provide advice and information to staff and students regarding university policy, procedures, and relevant legislation as they relate to access and inclusion and will participate in the promotion and implementation of the Elite Athlete Program, which supports elite athletes to balance their elite sporting career and studies at CDU. You will work closely with the Access and Inclusion Team Leader and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate, implement, and review project work relating to actions and objectives in the Accessibility Action Plan (2023- 2026).
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- A degree with subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and/or experience in working with people with disabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret relevant Federal and Territory legislation in relation to an educational context. Demonstrated ability to work within legislative, policy and procedural frameworks, including the ability to provide input into the development and appropriate implementation of these frameworks.
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to work in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and within a small team environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency at word processing, electronic information management systems and databases and the ability to use those programs to source and coordinate information.
- A sound knowledge of the University’s Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety principals and demonstrated ability to implement policies and procedures in this regard.
- Proven ability to manage and execute projects related to accessibility/health-related action plans, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to monitor and drive progress independently.
