he online Equity @ ACU Symposium offers a unique opportunity to engage with leaders and experts from across the sector and within ACU. It will provide a platform to share expertise, examine issues of (in)equity, and collaboratively explore innovative approaches to widening participation in higher education. Together, we can enhance our impact, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to access and succeed in higher education.

Keynote and parallel speakers at the symposium will include:

  • Professor Denise Wood | Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching Futures), University of the Sunshine Coast, Order of Australia (AM), Adjunct professorial research at Central Queensland University, Equity Research and Innovation Panel.
  • Professor Ryan Naylor | Associate Professor, University of Sydney, Academic Coordinator (Education Quality) and Professor of Higher Education in the Sydney School of Medical and Health Sciences. Fulbright Scholar, and Principal Fellow, HEA.
  • Professor Sally Kift | Higher Education Academy (PFHEA), a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law (FAAL), and President of the Australian Learning & Teaching Fellows (ALTF).
  • Professor Maria Raciti | Co-Director, Indigenous and Transcultural Research Centre, University of Sunshine Coast
  • Professor Sarah O’Shea | Honorary Professorial Fellow in the School of Education, Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Dean, Graduate Research at Charles Sturt University. 
  • Associate Professor Anna Bennet | Director Academic Pathways and Learning Support, University of Newcastle.
  • Professor Penny Jane Burke, Dr Matt Lumb and Dr Ryall Gordon | Director, Associate Director and Praxis Officer Centre of Excellence for Equity in Higher Ed, University of Newcastle
