WCAG 2.2 Released

The latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 are now available. This updated version of the standards includes nine new success criteria which take into account new technologies and functions like multi-factor authentication that are more widely in use than when WCAG 2.1 was released in 2018.

The WCAG standards were created to assist content creators in making online content accessible for everyone. We all use and consume information from the web in different ways with different devices and the standards ensure we can all have equitable access and experiences. Online education has become an integral part of the educational landscape, offering students the flexibility and accessibility to learn anytime and anywhere.

For those that are new to the standards, ADCET has developed several resources for academic staff to assist in making learning resources more accessible.

The standards are not just for web developers and we can all do our part in ensuring the information we put online is accessible. ADCET has developed a range of resources to assist tertiary staff in creating accessible content and supporting students with disability online.
