Access and Inclusion Advisor (UniSA)
Employment Status: Based in the Student Engagement Unit at the City West campus, Adelaide. Full-time (1.0 FTE), continuing position with excellent work/life balance. Salary: $94,800 - $106,226 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
The Access and Inclusion Advisor role is pivotal in ensuring that UniSA students who live with a disability, medical or chronic health condition, receive equitable access and support to succeed at their university studies. As part of a diverse and dynamic team, you will determine the reasonable adjustments required for individual students and provide high level advice to academic and professional staff in relation to inclusive practice and variations to assessment. In addition to contributing to the development of team processes and resources, you will also have opportunities to influence related projects and new service initiatives across the broader student services portfolio.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in disability or a related education or human services field
- Demonstrated skills and experience in working with people who experience barriers to inclusion
- Demonstrated understanding of Disability Discrimination legislation, including Disability Standards, as it applies to education providers and an ability to contribute to projects and the development of policy and procedures
- Capacity to work strategically with staff from a variety of discipline and service areas, to support University educational priorities and strategies
- Understanding of issues in higher education settings relating to access and inclusion services and equity groups
