Strengthening the Future for Staff and Students with Disability: The conversation conference on disability in tertiary education.

The ATEND Pathways 16 Conference will take place online, with the addition of State-based Hubs for in-person connecting. The conference aims to facilitate conversations and connections between practitioners and attendees on various topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts, gain insights from practitioners on best practices, and network with peers.

Meet the first of the international keynote speakers!

Professor Carol Evans will be discussing the Disability Inclusion Framework.

Professor Evans has extensive experience within the higher education and disability sectors in which she plays a highly significant role in leveraging inclusive education practice, and has done so throughout her career wearing many hats. Professor Evans roles have included regulating quality standards for English higher education providers for Office for Students, UK, leading inclusive education practices across organisations for example, as Pro Vice Chancellor, leading international research organisations promoting understanding of individual differences, working with inter/national agencies such as the British Council, ATEND, ADCET, Transforming Access and Student Outcomes (TASO), UNESCO, and as a Principal Fellow and National Teaching Fellow of Advance HE to promote equity, agency and transparency in higher education and especially disability inclusion.

Professor Lisa Waddington will be sharing her expertise on Supporting Staff with Disability in Higher Education.

Professor Waddington’s background is in European Disability Law as well as International and European Law at the Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Professor Waddington also holds the European Disability Forum Chair in European Disability Law.
