Indigenous Voice to Parliament – ADCET Statement of Support
ADCET is proud to support an Indigenous Voice to Parliament and is committed to providing our networks with a range of resources to help make an informed decision in the lead up to the 2023 referendum.
ADCET is committed to the self-determination of First Nations people and believe an Indigenous voice to Parliament is an important step in attaining this. This journey started with an invitation to Australians to support Voice, Treaty and Truth through the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
A codesign process with the Australian Government, led by Professor Marcia Langton and Professor Tom Calma, has developed details from the Uluru Statement for the proposed Voice to Parliament. The final report provides guidance for the Voice to Parliament to be considered by the Australian parliament.
In the second part of 2023 Australians will have a chance to consider the Voice to Parliament through an Australian constitutional referendum.
We support the Voice to Parliament and encourage you to explore the information and resources below and reflect on your position when the Referendum date is confirmed.
