Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) survey results released

The Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) 2021 Student Experience Survey (SES) and Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching 2021 Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS) results have recently been released.

The SES is the only comprehensive survey of current higher education students in Australia. It focuses on aspects of the student experience that are measurable, linked with learning and development outcomes, and potentially able to be influenced by higher education institutions

The GOS is completed by graduates of Australian higher education institutions four to six months after finishing their studies and measures short-term employment outcomes including skills utilisation, further study activities, and graduate satisfaction and is completed.

Results from the two surveys were recently released, key insights include:

  • The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be felt in both the education sector and the labour market
  • Students with disability showed lower positive ratings across the five elements of education measured in the SES
  • Undergraduates with disability have a full-time employment rate (58.7%) lower than undergraduates without disability (70%)

Both the SES and GOS surveys are important tools that can allow you to open conversations with senior leaders about ensuring your institution is inclusive of people with disability.
