Employment Status: Full-time, fixed-term appointment until 23 December 2022. HEW 6, $82,544 - $88,950 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
About the role
You will play a key role in the development of an enabling technology-based learning and working environment that allows full participation in university life for TAFE and Higher Education students.
You will promote the access and use of assistive technology to students and staff to fully engage in their learning and teaching through training and development, individual and small group tutorials, and online and face-to-face workshops.
You will:
- develop training resources to support the use of assistive technologies;
- promote and raise awareness of the benefits of assistive technologies;
- maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of assistive technology ensuring best practice standards; and
- prepare and provide reports and statistics as required.
About you
Reporting to the Coordinator, Disability Services you will have demonstrated experience providing training and development in assistive technologies. You will posses an understanding of key barriers to information access for students with print disabilities and how assistive technology can enable them to study independently.
You will possess:
- experience working with a range of stakeholders to promote the benefits of assistive technology;
- demonstrated working knowledge of assistive technologies;
- demonstrated experience promoting assistive technology through campaigns, delivering workshops and promotional material; and
- demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively and professional in a diverse and inclusive environment.
