Access and Inclusion Assistant - Wodonga Institute of TAFE

Employment Status: 0.6 FTE, Fixed Term Contract

The Role

The Access and Inclusion Assistant (AIA) will provide support to the Disability Liaison Officer (DLO) and to students who identify with having a disability, mental health condition and/or medical condition through either the enrolment or self-referral process. The AIA will develop Individual Learning Support Plans based on initial assessments of students presenting for disability support.

The position will manage administrative processes including communication with students. Ensure all appropriate documentation and case notes and recorded in relevant software reporting program, whilst assisting with developing cases studies and collecting relevant data and information for reporting.

About You 

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing their own workflow and priorities in supporting students. The AIA will be required to use their own initiative based on experience and theoretical knowledge to develop learning strategies. This position reports directly to the Team leader Careers & Support but works closely to and assists the DLO.

To be in consideration for the role applicants must also have:

  • A relevant Degree or Diploma in Disability/Community Services or Education Support with relevant work experience; or a suitable combination of lesser qualifications and relevant experience in working in a similar role.
  • Competent IT skills – experience using online learning platforms and Microsoft Suite
  • An Australian Citizen 
  • Current Drivers Licence 
  • Current Victoria WWCC as an Employee and National Police Records Check
