Vision Australia: Digital Accessibility Training (Sep - Nov)

Virtual Classroom Training

Vision Australia's virtual online training enables professionals and whole organisations to achieve the highest standards in digital accessibility and communication. The advice and training they provide is based on the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, as well as best practices from our extensive experience working with people with a wide range of abilities.

New course dates available

Due to overall interest and the popularity of the Creating Accessible Documents and Inclusive Design courses, Vision Australia have added new training sessions in September, so you won't miss out.

Creating Accessible Documents: Word and PDF will start on Monday, September 6, for morning sessions over four weeks. Advanced creating accessible documents courses have places available, and are selling out; be quick to register for a place before the end of the year!

The Inclusive Design training has a new session available starting on Wednesday, September 1; with places also available in October and November.

Accessible Communications and Marketing continues to grow in popularity with more and more people wanting to ensure their communications are accessible to everyone. Increasingly, people are relying on the internet for news, shopping and general communication through social media; it's important to get accessibility right. Digital Access officer, Rosie Luscombe has put together a comprehensive guide on Accessible Communications and Marketing, available through our blog.

Don't forget, there is still time to schedule some Team and Business training for this year, but be quick - the schedule is filling up.

Another option you might like to consider is Gift Vouchers for our public training courses. We are offering vouchers for training that you can purchase now and use later*. These are a terrific option if you would like to purchase training places to use later in the year. Please contact us for further information, or visit Humanitix** and purchase the gift cards directly.

*2021 gift cards expire on December 1, 2021 and must be used to purchase tickets before that date.
**Gift cards are currently available for payment by credit card only.

Free Webinar Event

The recording of our free August webinar ‘Inclusive Usability Testing’ is now available on YouTube.

Ben Gilmore from the Digital Access team chats about why inclusive design is important, how usability testing adds best practice guidelines that go beyond WCAG, and why our aim should be to produce an easy and pleasurable web experience for everyone to use.

The Digital Access blog hosts an article from Ben Gilmore with an introduction to the principles discussed in the webinar
