ADCET Webinar: Accessible Assessments for Students with Vision Impairment
This webinar will give participants a sound understanding of the Round Table’s (Round Table on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities) Guidelines for Accessible Assessment. The updated guidelines were launched in May 2019 and contain recommendations designed to make assessment materials accessible to students of all ages and levels of education.
A copy of the guidelines can be downloaded from: http://printdisability.org/guidelines/guidelines-for-accessible-assessment-2019/
During the webinar participants will discuss issues raised by each of the five sections of the Round Table document:
- Accessible Assessment
- General Considerations
- Responsibilities of Specialist Teachers (VI)/Disability Service Practitioners
- Accessible Format Papers
- Examination Environment and Conditions
At the end of the webinar, participants will have a better understanding of how to prepare and administer assessments that are accessible and usable to students with vision impairment, so that results reflect their skill level and understanding rather than their limited access to printed information.
This webinar will be of interest to school teachers, academic staff, education and training authorities, specialist staff working to improve the access of students with VI, those involved in transcription as well as students and families within Australia and New Zealand.
The webinar is free to attend, it will be live captioned and recorded. The captioned video will then be made available on ADCET.
Can't attend? Don't worry. Still register and we will send you details on how to access the recorded session.
