Being accepted into a university is an achievement in itself. For some students this goal has been reached against a backdrop of considerable learning challenges. A learning disability (LD) is a legally recognised disability and assistance is available that can greatly improve study effectiveness and prospects of academic success.

If you are a student with an LD or think you might have an LD it is important that you understand the impact it may have on your life and study. There are several assistive technologies available for those with LD and these can assist you overcome some of the barriers to learning that you may have experienced.

It is also important for you to prepare for university and develop learning strategies that assist you in meeting your goals.

Accurate assessment of an LD is important to inform you about accommodations that will assist you in your studies.
