A set of heterogeneous but often related nervous system processing disorders can be described under the heading learning disabilities (LD). Identifying these disorders and offering advice about appropriate adjustments for tertiary study is complex because of lack of agreement about the definitions of LD, individual variations in students with LD and institutional awareness regarding the condition.
