TAFE, university and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) offer thousands of different courses in
different modes of study. These modes provide students with disabilities
increased flexibility to study at their own pace and manage their own health
and well being. Examples of
flexible modes of study include external and online study. These modes
enable students to undertake their course or program without having to
attend campus for lectures and/or tutorials.
Other modes of study include
part time options where
students can study half the normal units of their course or program in each
year. This is a great way for students to combine work, study and family
commitments and is very popular among mature age tertiary students. Internal, external, online and mixed modes of
study may be offered full time or part time depending on the
